Movin' On
02:57
|
|||
I was in the dark, I could barely hear
Then someone pulled me out into the atmosphere
Now I'm movin'... I'm movin' on
I could only cry, I could not talk
Then I learned to sit and roll over and walk
Now I'm movin'... I'm movin' on
It might be another year, but I'm gonna release my fear
I'm gonna go down that big tube slide, and everyone will cheer
I might be an artist, I might be an engineer
As long as I can be a pioneer
I can run, I can sing my ABC's
I like my bean burritos with rice and cheese
And I'm movin'... I'm movin' on
I can ride a bike, wash my face
Next month I might even tie my shoelace
And I'm movin'... I'm movin' on
It might be another year, but I'm gonna release my fear
I'm gonna jump into that swimming pool, and everyone will cheer
I might be an artist, I might be an engineer
As long as I can be a pioneer
I can pour milk, I can blow my nose
And play London Bridge on the piano
And I'm movin'... I'm movin' on
I can write my name, I love cole slaw
I built the coolest Lego car you ever saw
And I'm movin'... I'm movin' on
It might be another year, but I'm gonna release my fear
I'm gonna walk up to that microphone, and everyone will cheer
I might be an artist, I might be an engineer
As long as I can be a pioneer
I got a band, it's a family thing
We like to dress up in antennae and wings
And I'm movin'... I'm movin' on
Everytime I write a new song
It's the very best one, but not for long
Cause I'm movin'... I'm movin' on
Mama I'm movin'... I'm movin' on
Baby we're movin'... we're movin' on

Lepidoptera Love
02:12
|
|||
The butterfly said to the moth:
"I really like your fuzzy wings"
The little brown moth fluttered
And she gave the butterfly a wink
I fly by night, and I know you fly by day
Go toward the light, and I'll meet you just about half way
The butterfly said to the moth:
"Your feathery antennae rock"
The moth said, "It's my bedtime,
but tomorrow is the equinox"
I fly by night, by the light of the milky way
The sun's too bright, but I can meet you at the break of day
Flittering in the light of the dawn
Sharing nectar, and humming a song
They bob and weave, and race to the tree
But they know it can't last long
Said the moth to the butterfly:
"Your colors give me a thrill"
The butterfly opened his wings,
And they both stood perfectly still
I fly by night, and I know you fly by day
Go towards the light, and I'll meet you just about half way
I fly by night, by the light of the milky way
The sun's too bright, but I can meet you at the break of day
I'll meet you just about half way.

Goin' Campin'
03:24
|
|||
I've got some firewood, for fuel
Forgot my flashlight, but it's cool
Yes I'm goin' campin', gonna sleep out in the woods
If you've never tried it, I really think that you should
I packed my backpack myself
We're doin' dishes, everybody helps
Yes I'm goin' campin', gonna sleep out in the woods
There's no refrigerator, but it's all good
If you like to look at the stars,
Even Jupiter and Mars,
You gotta get out of the city
Gotta get out in the woods
If you've never tried it, I really think that you should
Let's throw another log on the fire
Let's sing another song we don't really know
Go find a stick so you can roast your marshmallow!
Don't need no internet, WiFi
Just my family, and the open sky
Yes we're going campin', gonna sleep out in the woods
If you've never tried it, I really think that you should
After a dusty day well spent
Climb in my sleeping bag, it's intense
Yes I'm goin' campin', gonna sleep out in the woods
Where there's no TV, cause there's no AC
But we gotta hot campfire, and I found a really cool spider
So it's all good!

No Bones Within
02:40
|
|||
Head, thorax, abdomen
We're built inside out, no bones within
Head, thorax, abdomen
I'm talking about my insect friends
They go through metamorphic change
They turn from weird to really strange
Wings to fly, antennae too
Mouth parts to suck and chew
Head, thorax, abdomen
We're built inside out, no bones within
Head, thorax, abdomen
I'm talking about my 6-legged friends
Some aren't so good to have around
Because they eat my garden down
Others are beneficial guests
Because they eat those garden pests
Head, thorax, abdomen
We're built inside out, no bones within
Head, thorax, abdomen
I'm talking about my insect friends
Moths, wasps, flies, & fleas
Crickets, ants, beetles, & bees
Each one has a part to play
From pollinating flowers to eating decay
Head, thorax, abdomen
We're built inside out, no bones within
Head, thorax, abdomen
I'm talking about my 6-legged friends
If you want a different point of view
Get down on the ground and do what insects do
And if you see a foot in the air
Hope it's a foot that steps with care!
Head, thorax, abdomen
We're built inside out, no bones within
Head, thorax, abdomen
I'm talking about my insect friends

Rain
03:08
|
|||
When the rain falls down from the sky
It falls on the leaves, and you and I
When the wind blows the drops in my face
I hold your hand, and off we race
I know the sun will shine again
But right now we're running through the pouring rain
When the cloud spills her tears in your eye
Just wipe them away, now don't you cry
Cause the water spills back into the streams
And it turns the grays and browns to green
When the river flows back into the sea
Her waves will welcome him home with glee
And when the ocean melts back into the sky
Clouds will form, and away they fly
I know the sun will shine again
But right now we're running through the pouring rain
When the rain fell down from the sky
It fell on the leaves, and you and I
When the wind blew the drops in my face
I held your hand, and off we raced
I know the sun will shine again
But right now we're running through the pouring rain

I Love You, California
03:20
|
|||
I love you, California, you're the greatest state of all.
I love you in the winter, summer, spring and in the fall.
I love your fertile valleys; your dear mountains I adore.
I love your grand old ocean and I love her rugged shore.
Chorus
Where the snow covered Golden Sierras
Keep their watch o'er the valleys bloom,
It is there I would be in our land by the sea,
Every breeze bearing rich perfume.
It is here nature gives of her rarest. It is Home Sweet Home to me,
And I know when I die I shall breathe my last sigh
For my sunny California.
I love your redwood forests – love your fields of yellow grain.
I love your summer breezes and I love your winter rain.
I love you, land of flowers; land of honey, fruit and wine.
I love you, California; you have won this heart of mine.
Chorus
I love you, Catalina, you are very dear to me.
I love you, Tamalpais, and I love Yosemite.
I love you, Land of Sunshine, half your beauties are untold.
I loved you in my childhood, and I'll love you when I'm old.
Chorus
I Love You, California is the best state song of all
I sing it in the winter, summer, spring, and in the fall
I love your half steps and skips, and your chorus in the key of IV
Secondary dominants and passing tones galore
Chorus

I've been working on the railroad
All the live-long day.
I've been working on the railroad
Just to pass the time away.
Can't you hear the whistle blowing,
Rise up so early in the morn;
Can't you hear the captain shouting,
"Dinah, blow your horn!"
Dinah, won't you blow,
Dinah, won't you blow,
Dinah, won't you blow your horn?
Dinah, won't you blow,
Dinah, won't you blow,
Dinah, won't you blow your horn?
Someone's in the kitchen with Dinah
Someone's in the kitchen I know
Someone's in the kitchen with Dinah
Strummin' on the old banjo!
Singin' fee, fie, fiddly-i-o
Fee, fie, fiddly-i-o-o-o-o
Fee, fie, fiddly-i-o
Strummin' on the old banjo.

I love all the Bug Family
Every bug is a part of the family tree
But there’s one little buddy I particularly
wanted to meet, maybe drink a little tea.
So I went down to Pollywog Pond,
where the ferns grow thick and the grass grows long
on a nice warm night in the month of June
and I pulled out my guitar, and I sang this little tune:
“Little Firefly, won’t you come and rest your wings beside me and tell me please, how you make your bum glow so brightly? (So bright your bum) It delights me to see you dancing in the forest at twilight time. I know you’re busy out there, but if you have just a moment to spare, come on over little buddy and pull up a chair.”
And right then a lightning bug flew out of nowhere, landed on my guitar, looked right up at me and said... “Hello!” And I said “Mr.Firefly,” and he said “I’m actually a beetle, not a fly.”
Lightning Bug / Mr.Firefly
Then he said “There are more than 2000 different kinds of us.”
Mr.Firefly, how I love you, you bioluminescent little guy.
Then I said “Oh, won’t you tell me the essence of your bioluminescent ways.” And he said “Oh I assure you it’s quite complex, but I’m more than happy to explain.”
He flew off of my guitar and grabbed a twig from the sand.
He stood on four legs and said “Listen closely, friend.”
With the other two legs he drew it all out in the sand... A complex chemical equation that I did not entirely understand.
That he put down the twig and said “Well, I best be going, I don’t want to be late. I’ve got a very important date, and it’s not easy being a firefly and attracting a mate. But it was a pleasure talking with you, Human. I’m glad I stopped, to stop and conversate.” Then he dusted off his wings and flew off. And I was so inspired by the whole experience that I just had to (“did you do that thing where you go up one note?” ... “yep, you guessed it!”) modulate!
Mr.Firefly (I call him)
He’s actually a beetle, not a fly.
(Professor Buggy Lightning)
Mr.Firefly
And there are more than 2000 different kinds (is that so?!)
Mr.Firefly how I love you, you bioluminescent little guy.
Glow!

Where Is My Goat?
02:33
|
|||
Where, where, where is my goat, I can't find him
Everywhere I am reminded, I'll do anything to find him
What if my goat is driving a car
What if my goat was taken to Mars
What if my goat was attacked by eagles
What if my goat was kidnapped by seagulls
What if my goat stopped for a snack
What if my goat never comes back
What if my goat ran away to the circus
What if my goat just left me on purpose?
Where, where, where is my goat, I can't find him
Everywhere I am reminded, I'll do anything to find him
What if my goat was eaten by a whale
What if my goat was taken to jail
What if my goat went hang gliding
What if my goat went into hiding?
Goatees remind me of my goat
Big teeth remind me of my goat
Goats remind me of my goat
Remind me of my goat, yeah they remind me of my goat
When I smell goat cheese, I start to cry
I hope and I pray my little goat didn't die
I'm not going crazy, I've just got the blues
You'd be so sad if you lost your goat too
Where is my goat, I can't find him
Everywhere I am reminded, I'll do anything to find him
I want him ba-a-a-ack!!
I'll cross through the desert and over the sea
Anything to have my goat next to me
I'll take a train, I'll take a plane
Anything to see my goat once again!
Where is my goat, I can't find him
Everywhere I am reminded, I'll do anything to find him
I want him ba-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-ack!
Where is my goat, I can't find him
Everywhere I am reminded, I'll do anything to find him
I want him back.

The Lanyard Song
02:39
|
|||
Here's a fun thing to do when you go to camp
You can make a keychain, or a pull for a lamp
You take your 2 favorite colors of lanyard floss
Fold the strings in half, and make a cross
You go loop loop, over under, over under
Loop loop over under, over under
Loop loop over under, over under
And then you pull it tight
When you get real good, add a string or 2
You can even make it twist, here's what you do:
Just slant the strings off toward one edge
Then you weave and you weave till it's time for bed
You go loop loop, over under, over under
Loop loop over under, over under
Loop loop over under, over under
And then you pull it tight
3 strings.... 4 strings....
It's a tiny checkerboard that grows and grows
If you practice enough, you can do it with your toes
In the summer, in the fall
Keep your fingers busy any time at all
You go loop loop, over under, over under
Loop loop over under, over under
Loop loop over under, over under
And then you pull it tight
Don't forget to pull it tight!

Lice
03:40
|
|||
Lice
Are bugs
That live in your hair
Even if you think it's not fair
Lice
Won't make you sick
They just make your head itch
That's their ecological niche
Blood is all they need, in order to succeed
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it's the same
When they get their fill, they don't sit back and chill
They must prepare to play the mating game
Nits
Are their eggs
They glue 'em to a hair shaft
After a week they hatch
Nymphs
Are born
Little baby lice
They shed their skin thrice
It's nice to have company
Over from time to time
But when the start biting my scalp
That's really crossing the line!
Lots of people get 'em
Just try not to spread 'em
By sharing hats or brushes with your friends
Get a nit comb, and medicate your dome
With a little luck, that's the end
Oh, Lice
Are one branch (just one branch)
On the Bug Family tree (it's really really big)
Just like the locusts and bees
The butterflies and fleas
Ladybugs and millipedes
Just like you and me
(Just like you and I)

Let's go home and take a nap
Just lay your head down on my lap
It's OK if you can't sleep
Just close your eyes and baby count some sheep
There's only 24 hours in a day
Let's not get too carried away
If we wanna stay happy, and be our best
We got to make sure to get plenty of rest
Let's go home and take a nap
Just lay your head down on my lap
We played so hard, we played so long
But you know it's time to go when I sing this song
There's only 24 hours in a day
Let's not get too carried away
If we wanna stay happy, and be our best
We got to make sure to get plenty of rest
Slow song sung so sincere
Let's go home and take a nap
Just lay your head down on my lap
Your bear, your dog, your ducky's here
Just take a deep breath and make your mind so clear
There's only 24 hours in a day
Let's not get too carried away
If we wanna stay happy, and be our best
We got to make sure to get plenty of rest
Slow song sung so sincere(ly) (it's an adverb:-)

Songs from the Sky
02:46
|
|||
I hear the stars sing lullabies at night
But in the day they hide behind the light
The sun is much too loud
It covers up the whispering sound
Of the songs from the sky
I love to listen to the crickets sing
To taste the wind and hear the lightning
But in a quiet place
I can feel the tender embrace
Of the songs from the sky
Do I hear them with my ears?
Or with my mind?
The music of the spheres...
A glimpse of the divine
The ocean grinds her teeth into the sand
The waves flow through the air across the land
My nose is getting numb
But I can still hear the cold, clear hum
Of the songs from the sky
The sun is much too loud
It covers up the whispering sound
Of the songs from the sky
And in a quiet place
I can feel the tender embrace
Of the songs from the sky.
